For me, RSS feeds are the preferred way of exploring the internet. I can customize how I receive information and it has the added benefit of being ad free. It also gives me the choice of quickly selecting what I want to spend time engaging with. I don't need to scroll for 5 minutes trying to find an article or video to watch on numerous websites when I can see everything I'm subscribed to in plain text on one page.

Sadly, YouTube RSS feeds seem to go down often which is an issue when you're trying to stay away from the site to reduce watching mindless content.

A reddit post says this happens sometimes with one user reporting it occurs nightly. We'll see if it comes back up. RSS feeds are probably not YouTube's main priority.
