The group is taken to the great hall where Thorin presents himself but they're recognized by the raft elves as the prisoners of the elven king. Thorin explains he's here to talk to the Master of the Men not the elves and that this town is outside the realm of the king. Having explained who he is, the whole hall bursts into song cheerfully celebrating the return of the king beneath the mountain. They believe he will bring wealth to the town.
